Single-Ended Wiring: In this method, only one end of the LED lamp is wired, while the other two pins are connected to the power supply. There is no direct connection between the two lamp caps. The main advantage of this method is safety—since only one end is connected to AC, the other end remains uncharged. When replacing a traditional fluorescent lamp, you need to remove the original starter and replace it with a fuse before installing the LED lamp.

Do LED lights require positive and negative connections? The answer depends on whether your LED is powered by DC or AC. If it’s a DC-powered LED, then polarity matters—positive and negative terminals must be correctly connected. LEDs are essentially light-emitting diodes, which consist of a p-n junction. Current can only flow in one direction, which is why they have a positive and a negative terminal.
In contrast, if the LED is powered by AC, it doesn’t require strict polarity because the current alternates. However, most LED drivers convert AC to DC internally, so even in these cases, proper polarity is still important for safe and efficient operation.
