2016 China's smart hardware market will drop by 3%

The Avi Cloud (AVC) report shows that in the global economic recovery and the slowdown of China's economic growth, the size of China's smart hardware market will drop by 3% in 2016 to 41.01 million units. Beginning in 2016, innovative intelligent hardware such as VR, drones, and robots are booming, and there is a lot of glory in the original Sparks. The smart OTT box will drop by 4.2% to 11.62 million units. This is because the Chinese box market has entered the specification period, and the value of the box for consumers is declining and the cost is rising.


Retail sales of smart home peripherals will drop 4% to 4.1 million units. Such products will improve product performance reliability in 2016. The most obvious decline in retail sales may be the socket products. It is not excluded that the socket products that have added new functions such as power consumption intelligent monitoring will impact the status of classic products; in the smart home peripheral category, the growth of smart speaker products is obvious.


Smart wear is expected to decline by 3.1% to 23.08 million units. In 2016, the sales volume of smart bracelets will drop significantly, with a drop of 800,000 units. The reduced brands will mainly focus on domestic brands. In the same period, FITBIT and other international smart wear giants will emerge in the Chinese market, and the average price of wristband products is a high probability event.

The annual retail sales of VR glasses and helmets will reach 700,000 units, offsetting the impact of the decline in the retail sales of smart bracelets, which will reduce the total retail sales of smart wearables from the decline. AR products are still in the concept period, and it is estimated that there will be no 50,000-scale retail items in China.

The smart balance car will usher in a watershed in the rise and fall in 2016. The decisive role is the introduction of the positioning and management methods and relevant standards of the national authorities.

Intelligent robots will appear in high-end hotels and airports in cities such as Shenzhen and Beijing. Entry-level home robots with intelligent voice recognition and response functions are expected to enter the homes of ordinary people at the price of toys.
