When Shen Shiji took over as Chairman of Seoul Semiconductor 10 years ago, he was optimistic about the development trend of lighting technology from traditional incandescent lamps to LED. He pointed out that this industry is more suitable for SMEs because of the need for customization. Although product prices are a key factor, the company's scale does not have to be large, but it also has advantages in meeting customer needs.

South Korea's top two electronics companies Samsung and Lucky have also invested in the LED market in recent years. In the face of market competition, Shen Shiji said that although Seoul Semiconductor is not as good as Samsung LED and Lejin LED, the company’s biggest advantage lies in its complete product line. , Different products are developed for various markets such as residential, mobile, notebook, and television, unlike Samsung or Lucky Gold which only develops specific market products.

Regarding Seoul Semiconductor's Acrich technology brand, Shen Shiji pointed out that the company places great emphasis on the development of Acrich's technology. Acrich's technology products consume only half of the current traditional lighting products, and its energy efficiency is as high as more than 90%, much higher than the daylight. About 50% of the time.

Shen Shiji also said that the company's next goal is to further increase the brightness of LED lights, and at the same time lower the price of the products, so that the price of LED lights is reduced to be the same as the day light. It will take some time to reach this goal, but Seoul Semiconductor is in this year. The Acrich brand has set a revenue goal of 100 million U.S. dollars.
