Cobham Wireless and China Mobile present dual connectivity live demonstration at World Mobile Congress (MWC)
February 22, 2017 — Cobham Wireless today announced that it will work with China Mobile to demonstrate live LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) dual connectivity systems supporting 4G and 5G networks. The system demonstrates improved network throughput and capacity by simultaneously using radio resources from multiple mobile cellular base stations. By adopting its TM500 network test solution, Cobham Wireless, together with its partner China Mobile, will showcase a real-time dual connectivity system and demonstrate how to implement dual connectivity/multiple connectivity in a live network environment. The system will perform verification tests on the LTE-A Carrier Aggregation (CA) cell, allowing one terminal to simultaneously receive multiple signals from two different eNodeBs at a rate approximately 3 times that of the current standard LTE.
