Intel launches energy-saving chip

Intel's new Atom system chip contains two cores and four threads enabled through Intel Hyper-Threading Technology. This system-on-a-chip also supports 64-bit computing, a memory controller supporting up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, Intel virtualization technology, eight PCI Express 2.0 channels, error correction code for higher availability, and integration with Intel chipsets. I/O interface. This new series will include three processors, clocked from 1.6GHz to 2.0Ghz. The power consumption is 6 watts.

Intel Atom S1200 series chips are also compatible with x86 software commonly used in data centers. Intel said this will make it possible to integrate new low-power devices and avoid the additional investment in importing and maintaining new software stacks.

The Intel Atom S1200 series processor will begin targeting users on December 11 and it is recommended that the initial retail price be $54 (the wholesale price per thousand purchases).
