Samsung Display OLED Panel has a total output of 300 million pieces in 6 years
South Korea's Samsung Display announced on January 28 that its OLED panel has been in volume production since January 2007, with a cumulative output of more than 300 million.
Samsung Display said that the initial production of 100 million OLED panels took four and a half years, and the next 100 million production took just 11 months, while the recent production of 100 million was only seven months.
Samsung's president and CEO, Kimam Kim, said, "By introducing a new generation of OLED technology, including large-size TV panels and flexible displays, Samsung's display will accelerate its leading edge in OLED production."
Due to the large-scale production of the first OLED panel in 2007, Samsung OLED displays have been used in products such as smartphones, tablets and digital cameras.
