I. Introduction

At present, LED light source integrates two types of lamp integrated light source and chip integrated (COB) light source. As an emerging package form of integrated package light source, COB light source products currently have two types of planar single-sided integration and porous integration. Planar single-sided integrated COB has been widely used in the lighting market, but porous integrated COB products are still rare. The requirements for porous integrated COB products are very high, and many packaging manufacturers are afraid to go back to the old road of discrete LED light source integration, fearing that the porous integration will cause point light source, glare and other drawbacks. In fact, in order to meet the higher and faster demand for COB products in the lighting market, and in the philosophy of serving customers and satisfying customers' needs, Hongli Optoelectronics has innovated on COB porous integrated products to develop a new type of MLCOB light source products.

Second, the design principle

This product is designed and developed based on the principle that multi-point light source can effectively reduce ghosting and is equivalent to surface light source and increase spherical shape to improve light extraction efficiency. After designing, integrating packaging process, optical simulation, open mold injection molding The process finally formed this new MLCOB light source product.

1. Multi-point light source reduces ghosting

1.1 Ghost Introduction


When a point source illuminates an opaque object, a corresponding shadow appears. When there is a certain distance between the point sources, the resulting shadows will not completely overlap, the non-overlapping parts are slightly lighter, and the overlapping parts are slightly deeper. If it is a multi-point source, arranged at a certain interval, multiple ghosts will appear, and the shadow will extend from deep to shallow. (Figure 1)

It is now defined that the distance between the two LED light sources is d, the distance between the light source and the opaque illuminated object is h, the distance from the projection surface to the light source is L, and the size of the ghost is s. Simplify the above ghosting model (Figure 2).
