Air-conditioning industry returns to stable growth track

According to the production and sales data of the air-conditioning industry in November 2012, in November 2012, total air-conditioning sales were 6.06 million units, an increase of 11% year-on-year, of which 3.68 million units were sold domestically, a year-on-year increase of 6%, and exports were 2.37 million units, a year-on-year increase of 20%.

Domestic sales increased slightly by 6%. Air-conditioning sold 3.68 million units in domestic air conditioners in November, a year-on-year increase of 6%. It achieved a slight stable growth at the low base of last year, basically in line with market expectations. In January-November 2012, the accumulated domestic sales of air-conditioners in domestic air conditioners registered a negative growth of 6% year-on-year. We expect air-conditioner domestic sales to continue to grow steadily at the low base in November for 12 years.

Exports picked up significantly, up 20% in November. In terms of exports, 2.37 million units were sold in November, a year-on-year growth rate of 20%, mainly due to the export season in the air-conditioner industry. Exports in Europe, North America, and Oceania recovered, and were affected by the adoption of new energy efficiency standards by the EU in 13 years. The export of air conditioners from companies to Europe was shipped before the end of the year, resulting in a rapid growth in exports in November.

The industry gradually returns to a stable growth track. The long-term ceiling of the air-conditioning industry is high (stable domestic demand is about 80 million units, and the peak is expected to exceed 100 million units). After one year of industrial adjustment, it is expected to gradually return to a stable growth track. In 2013, driven by the increase in industry energy efficiency levels and subsidies for energy-saving products, the proportion of energy-efficient air-conditioning is expected to increase further.
