1. Power Connection: Most LED light strips operate on 12V DC, so you'll need a switching power supply. The size of the power supply should be chosen based on the total power consumption of the LED strip and the length of the installation. If you don't want to use separate power supplies for each strip, you can opt for a larger power supply that serves as a central power source. Then, connect all the LED strips in parallel. If the wire is too short, you can extend it separately. However, this method doesn’t allow for individual control of each strip, which may limit your options for customization. Before cutting, always check the marked sections—cutting outside these areas can cause a section of the strip to stop working. Always make sure to cut at the correct spot.
2. Connection Distance: For 3528 series LED strips, the maximum connection distance is around 20 meters, while 5050 series can go up to 15 meters. Exceeding these limits can lead to overheating and reduce the lifespan of the LED strip. Make sure to follow the manufacturer's guidelines to avoid overloading the system during installation.
3. Plug and Connection: Each LED strip should be connected using a special plug (which includes a transformer). Before connecting, remove the transparent plastic cover. Once connected, test the lights. Never connect them with the cover still on, as this can cause a short circuit and damage the strip.

4. Controller Connection: For LED marquee or RGB color-changing strips, a controller is necessary to achieve dynamic effects. The control range varies depending on the type of controller. A basic controller usually works within 10–15 meters, while a remote-controlled one can reach up to 15–20 meters, and some advanced models can even control up to 30 meters. If your LED strip is longer than the controller’s range, consider using a power amplifier to boost the signal.
5. Mounting Tips: When installing LED strips, they are typically placed into a lamp slot and can be straightened or fixed with string or thin wires. For outdoor or vertical installations, clips and tail plugs are recommended. Some clips are completely transparent, and this shop does not include them. If installed outdoors, it's advisable to apply waterproof glue on the tail plug after installation to enhance water resistance and protect the connections from moisture.
