The next four years will gradually decline: Apple tablet market share

Apple's tablet product line includes the iPad, and the current most successful iPad mini has more than half of the market share of the tablet PC, but the Android and Windows operating system tablet PCs will be playing in the future. Within 4 years, it gradually identified its user base and occupied a certain market share.

The forecast data comes from International Data Corporation (IDC), which shows that the market share of iPad will decline from 56.3% in 2011 to 53.8% at the end of this year. On the other hand, Android tablets will increase its market share from 42.7% to 39.8%. However, the forecast after four years will be more interesting.

By 2016, Apple’s tablet PC market share will further decline from the current 53.8% to 49.7%, while Android’s market share will stabilize at 39.7%. However, Microsoft's tablet market share will leap from 2.9% to 10.3% due to its new Surface tablet running Windows RT.

Of course, these are just predictions. According to IDC, global shipments of tablet PCs will increase to 122.3 million units this year. By 2013, IDC expects tablet shipments to reach 172.4 million units.
