Download the third-party firmware package from the link provided at the end of this post. 2. Create a folder named "upgrade" on the root of the USB drive. Place the "update.zip" file inside it. Insert the USB into the box as shown in the image below.

There are two ways to do this: - (1) Power off the box, then press the red button on the remote control while turning it on. - (2) For newer versions (July 2017 and later), use the left/right arrow keys. 5. Select "Apply update from external storage" and confirm with OK. 6. Wait a few minutes. After the upgrade completes, the box will restart automatically. The first boot may take up to five minutes.

Connect your computer to the box via STB until the message "partly successful" appears in the lower right corner.
3. Open the STB management tool and click "Upgrade."
4. Click "Browse," locate the firmware file, and select "Open."
5. Click "Upgrade" and wait for the transfer to complete. Once it reaches 100%, the box will restart.
