Daqri enters the enterprise AR software side with the new Worksense suite

A preview version of the DAQRI Worksense kit is now available through the DAQRI Worksense Early Adopter program. This initiative allows businesses to test the platform and provide feedback before its full release. DAQRI has taken a bold step beyond being just a provider of rugged smart glasses for enterprise users. The company has now entered the augmented reality (AR) software market with its new Worksense productivity suite, aiming to deliver powerful tools that enhance workflow and collaboration in industrial settings. Worksense offers five key applications designed to meet the needs of enterprise AR users. These include DAQRI Guide for work instructions, DAQRI Show for remote collaboration, and DAQRI Tags for visualizing devices and systems. The suite also includes features that support 3D modeling, scanning, and integration with industry-standard platforms like Unity, SketchUp, Autodesk, and Siemens. One of the standout apps in the Worksense lineup is DAQRI Scan, which enables users to create 3D models of products or equipment for use in various 3D engines and design software. Another key application is DAQRI Model: BIM Edition, which transforms building information models (BIM) into immersive 3D visuals. This helps architects, engineers, and construction professionals visualize projects more effectively on-site. Autodesk's Construction Line Director, Sarah Hodges, praised DAQRI’s integration with BIM 360, stating, “By bringing 3D models to the project site, DAQRI enhances communication and quality throughout the construction process. We’re excited to collaborate with DAQRI as they continue to develop professional-grade AR solutions for the industry.” The DAQRI Show application is already available, with other tools set to launch in the coming months. Customers interested in the Worksense Early Adopter Program can sign up directly on the DAQRI website. Ian Hughes, a senior analyst at 451 Research, highlighted the importance of solving real-world problems with AR technology. He said, “For AR to be widely adopted in business and industrial environments, it must clearly address existing challenges. As the technology matures, it will play an even more critical role in transforming workflows and improving efficiency.” Integration with existing systems and data is a crucial factor for successful AR implementation. The Worksense suite not only provides essential tools like remote support and instructional guides but also adds advanced features such as 3D environmental scanning and model viewing. Enterprise connectors are also included, making it easier to integrate with existing workflows. The standard version of Worksense comes bundled with DAQRI Smart Glasses, while a professional subscription model offers additional features like team collaboration, analytics, and hardware upgrades. The professional package is priced at $549 per month for 24 months, but DAQRI offered a discounted rate of $389 until May 31, 2018. This approach mirrors strategies used by mobile operators, where companies sell hardware at a lower cost to generate ongoing revenue through monthly service fees. With Worksense, DAQRI has created a sustainable revenue model based on software subscriptions, rather than relying solely on one-time hardware sales.
